Steam Game Festival Gets a Summer Makeover

Valve announced recently that their Steam Game Festival has a new name, as well as a date for 2021. Now the Steam Next Fest, the event will run from June 16th to the 22nd. (Note that this will likely overlap with 2021’s all-digital E3, if those plans come to fruition. E3 2020 was canceled due to COVID-19.)

The event was renamed to “more directly communicate its focus,” Valve wrote in announcing the change. Like the previous festivals before it, demos will be available to play, and there will be livestreams with developers behind the projects.

The announcement didn’t mention any specific titles coming to Next Fest, only that it would feature “hundreds” of demos to play, and they “can’t wait to share what’s headed to Steam” in June.

You can head to the Steam Next Fest website now to sign up for a reminder when everything goes live! What do you want to see there?
