MLG World Finals Announced

On the heels of a successful event at the X Games, Major League Gaming is headed to The Big Easy this fall to celebrate its 100th live event, the MLG World Finals.

Taking place on October 16th-18th, top teams from Call of Duty: Advanced

Warfare and Dota 2 will converge on New Orleans to compete for more than $500,000. The event will take place at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, a venue that boasts 3 million square feet of total space. The Call of Duty finals will take place in the New Orleans Theater, which has seating for over 4,000.

Hotel and travel information are still to be announced, but Major League Gaming did also announce today that tickets are available for the event here, and will set you back $49 for a General Admission Pass, and $199 for a VIP Pass. With the VIP Pass, you’ll have entrance to the event, preferred seating for the Sunday Call of Duty Finals, a MLG Nike New Orleans Hoodie, VIP seating for Call of Duty events, access to the VIP Lounge, autograph signings, a behind the scenes tour, and more. If you’re looking to compete with the best of the best, competitor passes will go on sale “in the coming weeks.”

If going to New Orleans is out of the question, you’ll be able to watch all the action on MLG.tv.

To close out the announcement, Major League Gaming also released some statistics about numbers of players and prize money. They’ve had over 50 thousand live event competitors, 45 million online matches played by 10 million registered users, and they’ve awarded over $13 million in prize money.
