Life is Strange Remastered Delayed for Nintendo Switch

Roughly two weeks before its expected release, Deck Nine Games announced that the Life is Strange Remastered Collection would be delayed for the Nintendo Switch. A similar delay happened with Life is Strange: True Colors, with the game releasing on Switch three months after other consoles.

The collection boasts redone character models and environment visuals, as well as lighting upgrades. A weak point in the earlier Life is Strange games, characters will also have improved facial movements thanks for full motion-captured facial animation. (Deck Nine also used full performance capture in Life is Strange: True Colors, a first in the series.)

Textures are more defined; I even think Chloe’s hair looks bluer.

Life is Strange Remastered will contain the first Life is Strange, when shy and quiet photography studio Max Caulfield returns to Arcadia Bay after years in Seattle, to attend the prestigious Blackwell Academy. Reuniting with Chloe Price, her best friend growing up, she soon learns she has the power to rewind time and change events.

The second game in the collection is Life is Strange: Before the Storm; telling the turbulent story of Chloe after a family tragedy and Max’s departure to Seattle. She meets Rachel Amber, and even though on paper they’re from two different worlds, they’re more similar than anyone knows. ‘Farewell,’ a bonus episode included in Deluxe versions of Before the Storm will also be included, as will the Zombie Crypt outfit for Chloe.

The delay is unfortunate for those looking to play on a Nintendo Switch, but hopefully, the time will allow Deck Nine to release the games with minimal issues.
